Joe likes to call me the “First Impressionist” of the office. I get to be the first smile everyone sees walking into the Newton Office! Assisting the Newton advisors is both a joy and a fun and welcome challenge that I truly enjoy. They put up with my ever-changing music choices out in the lobby and my self-proclaimed hilarious sense of humor. By far, my favorite part of the job is getting to visit with each person who stops in. I’ll never tire of hearing stories and life updates or being asked to pray. I can’t help but think that's why I’m here. While the work is something I enjoy, the people we get to connect with make it more than just a 9-5.
I’ve lived in Newton for 99% of my life but now enjoy life out in the country near Halstead. My husband and I met in 2nd grade, got married in our 30s, and welcomed our daughter exactly 9 months later. 2023 was quite the year! Jarrett and I farm West of Newton and spend our free time checking cattle and soaking in Lauren’s childhood years that we know are going to go much quicker than we realize.
In 2022, I ran into an old friend that I hadn’t seen for years at Norms Coffee Bar while I was getting my Saturday morning waffles that told me Joe was looking for a front desk assistant. The opportunity to be a part of this team is a constant reminder that God is intentional, especially in the little everyday things we often don’t think about - like coffee and waffles. This job has been a huge blessing to myself and my family, surrounding me with driven, fun, and caring people who love Jesus and genuinely have a passion for what they do.
